Ana Maria Marin graduated from the Universidad
Simón Bolívar in Caracas- Venezuela in May 1998 with a BS
in Materials Engineering, Major in Polymers.
She is currently working on her Masters thesis in Plastics Engineering at
UMASS Lowell while working on an Information Design Certificate from the
Ohio State University.
She joined AT Group in Caracas in April 1998 where she worked as a Support
Engineer and Technical Instructor for C-MOLD and Pro/Engineer covering
Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico.
In January 2000, she was hired by C-MOLD to be part of the Marketing
group in Louisville, KY to help develop the Latin-American market. In
April 2000 she joined Moldflow as a Support Engineer in Boston, MA. Since
October 2004, she has been in the Moldflow Training department as a Technical
Instructor & Designer. Her main responsibility is the preparation
and delivery of training courses for Moldflow Design Analysis software.
Her bilingual skills (Spanish and English) are often used to assist Hispanic
customers and resellers in America and Spain. Ana Maria is also an adjunct
faculty member in the Department of Plastics Engineering at UMASS Lowell,
where she teaches a “Computer Aided Design” course.
Experience in the plastics industry prior her graduation with a Bachelors
degree includes an internship at Tupperware in Venezuela performing a
variety of tasks in the areas of resin supply, production, tooling (mold
maintenance) and quality control. She moved to Santiago-Chile to complete
a 5-month internship at Plastics Haddad, S.A. in 1997 re-designing a plastic
feeding bottle using CAD.
She has been a member of the Society of Women Engineer since 2003, which
awarded her the title of Outstanding Member in 2004. She also is a member
of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Society of Plastics
Engineers since 2005.
