Moldflow Certification is the global industry standard for proficiency in the use of Moldflow Plastics Insight software. There are three levels of certification for analysts –Bronze, Silver and Gold. For more information on the different certification levels or the program itself, please click here.

Your paid iMUG registration allows you to register to take either the Bronze or Silver level Certification Examination. Corresponding review courses will be offered at no additional cost in preparation for the exams. Review sessions include:

  • The Moldflow Bronze Refresher Course - This half day test preparation course is for candidates registered for the iMUG Moldflow Bronze Certification Examination on Friday, May 23, 2008. Topics covered include molding window analysis, model translation and cleanup, gate placement/analysis, flow topics, results interpretation. Register early as class size is limited.
Prerequisite: Attended MPI Simulation Fundamentals or MPI-e Standard courses.

The Moldflow Bronze Refresher course will be offered on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 1 PM to 5 PM.

  • The Moldflow Silver Refresher Course - This day long test preparation course is for candidates registered for the Moldflow Silver Certification Examination on Friday, May 23, 2008. Topics covered include advanced flow topics, packing optimization, cooling modeling & results and warpage analysis & results. Register early as class size is limited.
Prerequisite: Passed Bronze Certification and attended MPI Advanced Flow, Cool and Warp or MPI-e Performance courses.

The Moldflow Silver Refresher course will be offered on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 8 AM to 5 PM with a break for lunch (noon - 1 PM).

* Both Bronze or Silver Certification Exams will be conducted on Friday, May 23, 2008. Plan for 6-8 hours to take the exam.

Hands-On Training at iMUG 2008

Your attendance at iMUG allows you to take advantage of numerous hands-on training sessions delivered by Moldflow Engineers at no additional cost. Most training sessions will offer both lecture and hands-on computer lab training exercises for participants to practice what they have learned. Products and topics covered include:

  • Matching an Actual Molding Process with MPI Simulation - Learn a comprehensive systematic approach to eliminate errors when comparing simulation to molding practice.

  • Core Shift Analysis in MPI - Learn the benefits of performing a core shift analysis, which provides detailed information on the movement of a mold core during the injection molding cycle.

  • Two-shot Sequential Overmolding - Learn the simulation capabilities when one plastic part is molded over another part that was made in the same tool.

  • Insert Overmolding - Learn the simulation capabilities when a plastic part is molded over a plastic or metal insert in the same tool.

  • MPI/Warp Visualization & Interpretation - Learn new ways of how to manipulate deflection results to identify its magnitud, causes of warpage and how to improve or eliminate it.

  • Application Programming Interface (API) –An introduction to the powerful API which allows you to automate every day tasks and operations within Moldflow Plastics Insight.

  • What's New in MPI 6.2 - The new features and key enhancements of Moldflow Plastics Insight 6.2 will be reviewed.

  • Advanced Users MPI Tips & Tricks –This interactive session is geared towards advanced users who would like to discuss MPI tips & tricks. Participants are encouraged to bring problems for discussion.

  • MPI/3D Gas Assisted Injection Molding - This session will highlight the benefits of using a 3D mesh type to simulate the gas assisted injection molding process.

  • Interfaces to Structural FEA Software - Learn how Moldflow products, including Moldflow Structural Alliance, can be used to improve solution accuracy in other commercially available Structural Finite Element Analysis software packages such as ANSYS, ABAQUS and LS-DYNA.

  • What's New in MPA 8.1 –The new graphical user interface, new features and key enhancements of Moldflow Plastics Advisers 8.1 will be reviewed.

  • When to use MPA/3D and MPA/Performance Adviser modules –Learn how and when to use the new advanced 3D technology in MPA 8.1 and the MPA Performance Adviser module which offers options for packing and warpage analysis.
